In the 1900 census Johana was listed as a widow and a farmer living in Houston County, Texas (not to be confused with the city of Houston, which is in Harris County). She was the mother of six children.
In the 1920 census she was listed as living with her son Earnest L. Noble and his family in Dallas. The death year on the headstone is incorrect; she died in 1923.
E. L. Noble was the informant on the death certificate.
