Darlene was born on March 30, 1928 to Earl and Dorothy (Dittmer) Mustard. Darlene grew up in Clarks graduating from Clarks High School. After graduating from high school Darlene worked at Central City Cold Storage, and Clarks Cafe. Darlene married Martin John Danklesen on February 23, 1957 in Fremont. They remained in Clarks, where Darlene was a devoted mother and wife. Darlene sold Avon products, until her retirement in 2004. She then moved to Litzenberg Long Term Care in Central City in 2005.
Darlene enjoyed craftwork, plastic canvas, crocheting, puzzles, crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire. Her greatest enjoyment and love came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Clarks, The Ladies Aide at the church, and was also a member of the President's Club with Avon.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children - JoAnn (Roland) Veburg of Clarks, NE, and James (Catherine) Danklesen also of Clarks, NE; a brother - Bob (Millie) Mustard of Central City; sisters - Virginia Kinney of Norfolk, NE, Marilyn Nelson of Landers, CA, Wilma Williams of Norfolk, NE, and Irma (Jim) Janulewicz of Clarks, NE; brother-in-law - William Wagner of Colville, WA; sisters-in-law - Betty Mustard of Kearney, NE and Gloria Mustard of St. Charles, ILL ; grandchildren: Brandy (Veburg) Sundberg, Ryan Veburg and Derek Veburg, Samantha Danklesen, Adam Danklesen, and Lucas Danklesen, and 3 great-grandchildren: Kennedy Sundberg and Kyndsi Sundberg, Mikayla Danklesen.
Preceding her in death are; her parents; husband - Martin (1971); three brothers - Earl Mustard, Jack Mustard, and Hal Mustard; and one sister - Faye Wagner.
