Charles was the son of Antonio Moungie and Barbara Marion. On 29 Aug 1875 he married Julia McFadden. They did not have any children. On 17 Oct 1881 they divorced and about 1882 he married his second wife, Sarah. At the time of his death Charles was a broom peddler. He died of lues tertiary (syphilis) at City Hospital at the age of 57.
