A life-long resident of Carter County, he was the son of the late Daniel Boone and Amanda Simmons Carroll.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 1p.m. at the Stinson church. Rev. Watt Moore officiated.
Burial was in the Carroll Cemetery under the direction of the Satterly-Phillips Funeral Home.
Surviving is the wife; three daughters, Mrs. June Campbell, Hitchins; Hazel Rice, Jeffery, W. Va.; Hester Higginbothan, Charleston, W. Va.;
two sons, Homer Carroll, Grayson, and Reed Carroll, Hitchins.
