Mrs. Audrey Rainey Culver, 310 Harts Ave., died Thursday in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Crestwood Cemetery with Dr. Levan Parker officiating. Survivors: daughter, Miss Carol D. Culver; sons, David T. and Milton L. Culver; grandchildren, Marcella R. and Milton L. Culver, Jr., all of Birmingham; brothers, L.B. Rainey Jr., Birmingham, Samuel L. Rainey, Albertville, Kenneth L. Rainey, Gadsden; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Culver was a native and lifelong resident of Gadsden. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Culver was a graduate of Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Ga., and taught for many years at Emma Sansom High School and Westminister Christian School, retiring in 1979. She was the daughter of the late former Congressman, L.B. Rainey, Sr. and Mrs. Julia L. Rainey and was the wife of the late Milton T. Culver, who was prominent in the insurance business in Gadsden for many years. Mrs. Culver was a favorite teacher and leaves many students to mourn her passing. The body will remain at Collier-Butler Funeral Home until the hour of service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 this evening. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
