Mrs. G. V. Baker Passes Away at Home of Daughter in South Fork, Mo., at Age of 71.

"Mrs. G. V. Baker, one of the older residents of this city, died at the home of her daughter in South Fork, Mo. Monday evening, October 5th, in the 71 year of her age. Death was due to disease inherent to advanced years. The funeral will be held at 616 North Walnut street, this city Thursday October 8th at 10 o'clock a.m. Rev. O. G. Missanage of the United Brethren church will preach the sermon.
Lucinda Ogden was born in Indiana in 1838 in which state she lived until 12 years of age at which time her family moved to Georgetown, Ill.
In 1858 she was married to Mr. G. V. Baker of Georgetown. Shortly after the marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Baker came west, locating in Chanute, Kas. and later moving to Iola.
In August if this year Mrs. Baker went to South Fork for a visit with her daughter and while there contracted the disease that resulted in her death.
Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Baker, six who are still living are Mrs. Simmons of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Long of South Fork, Mo., Mrs. Rhoads of La Harpe, and Mrs. May Newman, Mrs. Bishop, and Mr. Fred Baker of this city.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the United Brethren church."
