Richard graduated from North High School in Eau Claire in 1966 and from UW Eau Claire in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He also served his county in the Air Force.
On January 30, 1971, Richard married Sharon O’Connell in Chippewa Falls. They moved to Marinette for a job at SafeGuard, now KUS and worked there for 38 years. The most important thing to him in his life was his family.
Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon of Marinette;
son, Patrick (Arely) Posz of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.;
daughter, Nikki (Jim) Sotka of Peshtigo, WI;
five grandchildren: Jacob Mercado, Jamyson Sotka, Neela Sotka, Jonahs Posz and Jethro Posz; great grandson, Thad;
sister, Mary Jo (Don) Jordan of Gainesville, Fla.;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maude and Fred “Bud” Anderson; and a brother, Dennis.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Thielen Funeral Home. A Time of Shared Memories will be held at 5 p.m. Private burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery at a later date.
