L. Owen Granlee, aged 49 years, of Brave, died Tuesday morning, May 23, 1939, at 4:20 o'clock, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. Death was attributed to complications following an illness of six weeks.

Mr. Granlee was born January 22, 1890, at Kuhntown, a son of the late Layton and Rachel Estel Granlee. He spent most of his life in Wayne Township at Brave where he was employed in the gas fields.

Surviving are his wife, Orpha Kinney Granlee, to whom he was married in 1911, and nine children, Mrs. Lucille Kern, of Wana, W. Va.; Mary Etta, Mildred, George, John, William, Olive, Delbert and Walter Granlee, all at home. One child is deceased. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. Jennie Phillips and Floyd Granlee, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. George Brown, of Parkersburg, W. Va.; Mrs. Adam Phillips, of Cameron, W. Va.; Frank Granlee, of Brave; Roy Granlee, Mary Granlee and William Granlee, also of Brave. One grandchild also survives.
