William was a native of Canada who immigrated to the United States in 1897. He departed Halifax, Nova Scotia on board the Grand Trunk Railroad and arrived in Detroit, Michigan. He eventually settled in Louisville, Kentucky, and on 31 Mar 1944 he married Marie Gutman Anderson. He was a machinist and he worked at the American Tobacco Company. William died at the age of 72.
