"Michael was born in Slovakia to Michael Tirpak & Rose Margitan Tirpak. The family immigrated to the US, and Michael grew up at 198 Washington Avenue in Perth Amboy, NJ with 2 brothers and a sister. He joined the Army during WW II, achieving a rank of T/4th grade, and receiving a good conduct medal in 1944."
