Deloris June Tibbs, 75, of Petersburg, Il, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 1, 1940 to Kenneth and Opal (Fulk) Padgett in Clay City, IL. She married John Tibbs on July 15, 1957.

Deloris was a member of the Petersburg Church of Christ and was active with her husband in the ANSAR Shrine Clown Unit. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.

Mrs. Tibbs is survived by her husband John, her son John (Lora) Tibbs of Petersburg and her daughter Cindy Tibbs of Springfield; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; her sisters Retha Murbarger and Wanda Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth Tibbs and a brother Donnell Padgett.

Services for Deloris will be held on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Rev. James McMillion will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children. Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
