Estel Powell (nee Allen), 85, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997.
She was born in Millstone, Calhoun County WV, a daughter of James Fielden Allen and Almira "Allie" Bailey. Mrs. Powell was a long time resident of Akron, Ohio. She was a member of Albrecht Avenue Church of God, Akron.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Hagan Powell; four sons, Richard of Akron, Gary of Mogadore, Ohio, Larry of Spring-field Twp., Ohio, and Lennis Terry of Cuyahoga, Ohio; three daughters, Erma Lee Houchin of Arnoldsburg, and JeanCole and Janet Savich, both of Springfield Twp.; and 39 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, 10 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, Akron,with Rev. Ken W. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation at the funeral home was scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
