He was born in Charlottesville, Va., on January 1, 1943, the son of the late Roy and Mary Utz Lillard, of Etlan, Va.
The founder, president and CEO of Superior Industrial Laundries, Inc., in Fairmont, was a 1961 graduate of Madison (Va.) County High School. He began his career with Rental Uniform Service in Culpeper, Va., and was promoted to general manager of the Morgantown operation in 1972. He held that position until founding Superior Laundries in 1982.
Russell (R.C) was a devoted and supportive family man who was most proud of his wife, three children and 11 grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends at his cabin in the mountains.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lois Snow Lillard; a son, Russell, Jr., daughter-in-law, Sarah, and grandchildren, Katie, Kelsey, and Russell III (Curtis); a son, Rodney, daughter-in-law, Christy, and grandchildren, Lacey, Blake, Owen, and Perry; a daughter, Raegan Ratliff, and son-in-law, Phillip, and grandchildren, Camille, Leah, Rachael, and Ava.
Friends and family are welcomed to a ceremony at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
