Miller O. Yates died on Friday, December 30, 1960 at his residence, 400 Chesapeake Street Southeast. Survivors included his wife, Blanche T. Sollers Yates; children: Alfred F. Yates, Harry A. Yates, Raymond B. Yates, Francis B. Yates [1925-2000], Thomas V. Yates, Eugene P. Yates, Richard Yates, Mrs. Mary Loveland, Mrs. Dorothy Goodrich, Mrs. Margaret Stanley, Mrs. Catherine Ramey, Mrs. Grace Albrittian and Mrs. Blanche Anderson; 40 grandchildren and siblings: M.O. Yates, Vernon C. Yates, Miss Lennie Yates, Mrs. Ruth Day, Mrs. Nina Miller, Mrs. Helen Muntzing and Mrs. Dorothy Christ. Services were held at the Lee Funeral Home at 4th Street and Massachusetts Avenue Northeast. Interment was at Rock Creek Cemetery.
