Artist. Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, he studied art in Brussels, Belgium. After serving in the Second World War, he settled in France, where he joined the group of the abstract painters Jean Arp, Georges Braque, Sonia and Robert Delaunay. His career spanned 15 years and more than thousand works, becoming one of the most influential European artists of the post-war period. Sadly, he committed suicide jumping out from the window of his studio, in Antibes, France. His many works include "Nature Morte Aux Bocaux," "Reclining Nude," "Agrigente," "Les Barques," "landscape of the south of France" "Les mouettes," "L'atelier," "Footballers at the Parc des Prince" and "The Shelf." In his grave, there is a painting tube in a plaque.
