He was born July 25, 1940 in Ozark, Arkansas to Rass and Velva Marie Powell Alston.
He was a Farmer and Cattleman, former Justice of the Peace in Franklin County; attended Mulberry Church of Christ; was a golfer and sports enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Reba Delores “Dodie” Humphrey and Sherry Ann Cummings.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Nixon Alston of Ozark; three daughters, Jennifer Ledbetter and Kellee Ragains of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Evette Alston of Clarksville, Arkansas; four sons, Patrick Alston of Jonesborro, Arkansas, Jaylan Alston, Darin Alston, and Bryan Alston of Ozark; a sister Janet Gilbreth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Nixon and Wayne Gilbreth officiating and burial at Highland Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
