COOK – Wayne C., 88, of Lambs Bridge, South Fork, died peacefully June 25, 2016, at home. Born Sept. 3, 1927, in Beaverdale, to the late Peter and Blanche (Stigers) Cook. Also preceded in death by brothers, Lynn, Matthew and Donald; and sisters, Joan Paserba, LaRue Kick, Shirley Magdalin, Betty Drury and Jetta Ecklund. Survived by wife of 62 years, Edna Mae Cookie (Adamsik) Cook, whom he married June 19, 1954; children, Joyce, married to Dwight Pancottine, Chicago, Ill.; Wayne W., married to Tonya (Blair), South Fork; Joannie, married to Dan Nedwreski, Ebensburg; and John, South Fork; grandchildren, Allison, Nicole and Gina Pancottine; Brittany and Bretton Nedwreski; and Ashley and Haley Cook; great-grandchildren, Angelina and Ferris; sisters, June Beveridge, Florida; and Nancy Belinda, State College; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael and American Legion, Post 551, St. Michael. He retired from American General Life Insurance Co. and enjoyed an active retirement. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where a vigil service will be held Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church by Father Joseph C. Nale.
