Caroline, dau. of Woodbury Langdon and Sarah Sherburne, was b. 1780 in Portsmouth, NH; m. Sept. 24, 1810, William Eustis. William Eustis was the 12th Governor of Massachusetts, 1823 - 1825; 6th US Secretary of War, 1809 - 1813, member of the House of Representatives, 1801 - 1805, 1820 - 1823.

William Eustis "married Caroline, the beautiful and accomplished daughter of the Hon. Woodbury Langdon, of Portsmouth, NH" (NEHGS Register, April, 1869)

Her father, "Woodbury Langdon, was the only brother of Gov. John Langdon. He was a successful merchant, a member of the old Congress, Judge of the Supreme Court of NH, and a firm patriot." (NEHGS Register, July, 1868)

The "Massachusetts, U.S., Death Records, 1841-1915," Register page 243 (penned), for the City of Roxbury recorded her death of "old age" at 84 years, 10 months, which would place her birth in December 1780.
