She was the daughter of John Ford Davis and Chloe Luticia McAfee, and thus the sister of Val's second wife, whom he married after her death.

Mrs. Selina Emma Davis Roe was born August 30, 1872, was married to J. V. Roe on January 3, 1893, and died Wednesday, January 8, 1919. To them was born six children, two of whom died when young. To the very best of her ability, she filled every sphere in life and her death is regretted by every one who knew her. The funeral was conducted by Elder T. C. Little, burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.
