Toms River resident Paul Beaumont Confrey, whose son lives in Spring Lake Heights, died Monday Aug. 11, 2008 in Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was 75 years old.Paul had been employed as an advertising sales representative for Hobby Publications, Manalapan and prior to this he had been employed for Cosmopolitan and Women’s Day magazines in New York City.He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the escort Carrier USS Palau.He was born in New York City and had lived in Matawan for 30 years before moving to Toms River 10 years ago. He was also a graduate of Seton Hall University receiving his bachelor of arts degree.He was the son of the famous composer and songwriter “Zez” Confrey and his wife, Wilhemina Matthes Confrey.Surviving is his devoted wife of 42 years, Dale DiRocco Confrey; his beloved children, Matthew and his wife, Priscilla Confrey, of Spring Lake Heights and Jennifer Confrey, of Clifton; a brother, Thomas Confrey, of Freehold; and his dear granddaughter, Olivia Confrey.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Spring Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Lakewood. The O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall is in charge of arrangements.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill , [NAMI] New Jersey, 1562 US Highway 130, North Brunswick, 08902-3004 in his memory.
