Helen E. (Nemesek) Yancosky, 81, of New Kensington, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, in Tandem Health Center, Cheswick.

She was born July 30, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Albert and Agnes (Miller) Nemesek.

She lived in the valley most of her life and was a salesperson for 30 years for the former Hart's Department Store of New Kensington.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, the Alle-Kiski Professional Business Women's Club, Arnold Fireman Auxiliary 1 and 2, Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Auxiliary and the Christian Mothers of her church.

Hobbies included travel and playing cards.

She is survived by a son, William M. Yancosky of Washington, D.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Janice) Stone of San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. James (Joyce) Fair of South Buffalo Township; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Yancosky, in 1989; a son, Eugene ``Guey'' Yancosky; and a grandson, Alan M. Stone.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington, where prayers of transfer will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Christian funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Larry Kulick, officiating.

Interment to follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell.

A parish wake service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
