Michael E. Kring, 70, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Michael was born on December 30, 1945 in the home of his parents Fred and Helen (Miller) Kring in Lydick IN. Michael graduated from New Carlisle High School. He continued his education at Ivy Tech receiving an Associate Degree in Labor.

Michael married the former Peggy Ellis on October 10, 1965 in South Bend, IN. Michael then joined the United States Marine Corps serving his country during the Viet Nam Conflict, receiving an honorable discharge. After the service Michael retired in 2005 after 36 years of service as a Cable Splicer with Verizon.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Peggy and their children, Michael F. (Cindy) Kring of South Bend, IN, Robin R. Kring of Mishawaka. Michael was a grandfather to 4 grandchildren, 17, great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren. Michael is also survived by a brother Chuck (Marilyn) Kring of New Carlisle, IN and a sister, Mazie Laureys of South Bend, IN. Michael is preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Fred, Wayne, Jim and a sister, Louise Redman. Michael was the World's Best Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend to his family.

Michael was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in South Bend. He belonged to the American Legion Post in New Carlisle. Michael coached Pop Warner Football for 15 years. He also coached Little League Baseball and Softball at Southside Little League Park for over 20 years. He was a Cub Scout Pack Leader for Pack # 510 for 3 years. Michael also enjoyed searching for arrow heads.

The family celebrated the life of Michael from 1-4pm on Sunday, July 24, 2016, with a memorial service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Thomas Steinen officiating, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN. Burial of remains will be held at a later date.

The family requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Immanuel United Methodist Church, 1211 West Ewing Ave. South Bend, IN.


He's buried in Chapel Hill Cemetery (Cemetery ID# 84610) or at least the V.A. sent a headstone to the cemetery. I found the below information on the V.A.'s website.
