JOHN ROWE, son of William Rowe and Mary Fincher Rowe. Born Aug. 1830 in Tennessee according to the 1900 census. His parents were in 1850 living in Hilburn, Madison County, Arkansas, but John is not in the household, and unable to locate him in 1850. This was the same location as SARAH SALYER NOT HARRIS was living with her parents William P. Salyer and Elizabeth Montgomery Salyer. Unable to locate a marriage for Sarah and John.
In 1860 John and Sarah ROWE are shown living in Louisa, Lawrence County, Kentucky with children: William, Malinda, Lewis and George, also Mary Pinks, age 17. The Kentucky Birth Records show a son Samuel b. 1854, and daughter Nancy b. 1856 born to John and Sarah; both died prior to 1860.
In 1870, John and Sarah are shown in Boyd County, KY with children: William, Malinda, Lewis, George, Richard, Nathan, Martin and Katie Pinks? age 6.
In 1880 census John and Sarah are in Meadow, Magoffin County, KY with children: Nathan, Martin, Eleanor (Ellen), Charley, Katie and Mahala (Hallie).
Sarah died before 1893 as John marries Cynthia (?). 1900 census shows the two of them have been married for 7 years and are living in Carter County, Kentucky.
John marries a 3rd time - May 29, 1905 in Catlettsburg, Boyd Co., KY to Mary Frances Estep. Groom is shown as 74 and bride as 42. Parents of both parties are listed. Mary died at the Western State Hospital in 1914. Her Findagrave indicates she had been there for 10 years.
