Daughter of William Lee Allred and Martha Lavon Larsen

Wife of Orson Devon Osborne

1923 ~ 2016
Dona Rae Osborne, 93, passed away peacefully July 20, 2016. She was born to William Lee Allred and Martha Lavon Larsen on June 12, 1923, in Spring City, Utah. She grew up with the love of her life, Orson Devon Osborne, and they were married on July 16, 1943, just before he went overseas to serve as a fighter pilot in WWII. They remained married for 73 years, until his passing two months ago. To see them together was to see the best example of what a marriage should be.
Dona had an extraordinary gift for loving, protecting and supporting her husband and children. They were the most important things in her life. As her family expanded with in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she became an important influence in their lives, too. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
"Mom-Mom" was a talented artist and her work hangs in the homes of her children and grandchildren. As a charter member of Willow Creek Country Club, she golfed on the ladies' league for many years and hit three holes-in-one - the last in her 70s. She was also a wonderful seamstress. With her husband, she traveled extensively.
Dona was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings, including two inner-city missions with her husband. In her last years, she dealt with health issues with grace and dignity. Special thanks to the staff at Cottonwood Place Senior Living and to Brighton Home Health Hospice.
Dona is preceded in death by her beloved "Ozzie," two brothers, and a son, William Orson Osborne, who died shortly after birth. She is survived by her children: Christine Paxton, Steven (Tina) Osborne, Marty (Michael) Smith, and Trace (Mindy) Osborne. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday, July 25, from 6pm to 8pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South. Funeral services and interment will begin at 11am on Tuesday, July 26, also at Larkin Sunset Lawn. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Online remembrances can be shared at www.larkinmortuary.com.
