Doris Humphus, 91, of Temple, formerly of Cedar Springs, died Sunday, July 31, 2016, in a Temple Nursing Home. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with Mike Gentry and Sid Blackman officiating. Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.

Doris was born in Lott, Texas, to the late Ozy M. and Salome Lillian Barganier Vaughan. She graduated from Lott High School and married Tom Humphus on December 7, 1945. Doris retired from the Marlin ISD where she worked as a Dietary Manager for 23 years. She was a member of Leon Valley Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Humphus; and brother, Lendon Vaughan.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Humphus, of Temple;
daughters, Debbie Hunt and husband, Bill, of Lott, and Cathy McLane and husband, Mike, of Brownwood; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
