Mr. John Scruggs,69 of Rutledge, died Sunday, July 19, 2015. Mr. Scruggs was the son of the late Leonard and Iowa Hay Scruggs. He was born November 18, 1945 in Culloden, GA. Mr. Scruggs was married to Cheryl Arnold. He retired from Leggett & Platt where he worked in maintenance. Since retiring, he has worked with Verner Farms. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his favorite pastime was tinkering. He always had a project to work on.
Mr. Scruggs is survived by his wife, Cheryl Scruggs and children, Sheila Richburg, Sandra Scruggs, Stacy Long and Michael Scruggs. He also leaves siblings, Dan Scruggs,, Herschel Scruggs, Luther Scruggs, Killis Scruggs and Patsy Smith. Grandchildren are Jacob & Brittany Jenkins, Justin Jenkins, Kody, Kiley and Mikayla Raimey.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 6-8 PM at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 11 AM in the chapel. Interment will be at 2 PM at the Culloden Baptist Church Cemetery.
