Valeriano E. Borromeo was born in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines on December 19, 1921. He was an educator, retiring as High School Principal after 30 years of teaching. He was the Most Worshipful Master of Pinatubo Lodge #52 for 2 years in San Narciso, Zambales. He and his wife migrated to the United States in December of 1981 and he became actively involved with various senior citizen organizations in San Diego North County. He was elected President of Senior Volunteers Association (SVA) and held the office for almost 14 years. He also loved gardening and he planted several fruit trees in our backyard. His favorite fruit was Cherimoya. After he retired from the SVA, he spent the day keeping a vegetable garden in my sister's backyard. He always found ways to keep himself busy, spending most of the day in the backyard. He died peacefully on November 21, 2012 in San Diego, California.
