William E Buttgereit, 70, of Pana died 2 p.m. Friday (April 27, 1979) in Pana Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in D J Kennedy & Sons Funeral Home, Pana, with visitation after 3 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana.
Mr Buttgereit was born in Essen, Germany, son of Gustav and Augusta Buttgereit. He was a member of Pana Knights of Columbus, Teamsters Local 279 of Decatur, and was a retired employee of American Farm Supply and Staley Cartage Co. He married Anna M Vits in 1934.
Surviving are his wife; daughters, Mrs Charlotte Ruhl of Pana; Mrs Carolyn May of St Anne, MO; Mrs Wilma Stuller of Springfield; sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Kronshagen and Mrs Lena Meachum, both of Pana; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Two brothers preceded him in death.
