Although the California death index has her birth in Oklahoma, on every federal census, she cites Missouri as her place of birth. Ida married Joe Wiley Hobbs, marrying in Prescott, Arizona on October 14, 1896, having five children together:
Helen M. Hobbs (1898-1959)
Margaret Hobbs (1899-1959)
Mary Jane Hobbs (1902-1984)
Joseph Wiley Hobbs, Jr. (1905-1991)
Dorothy E. Hobbs (1908-)

They made their home in Prescott, where her husband worked as a gold miner. After gold panned out in Arizona, they moved west to Los Angeles, where her husband also worked as a mining superintendent. He pre-deceased her and Ida remarried, marrying Joseph W. Stubbs (1865-), about whom nothing is known but that he was from Tennessee, marrying in Los Angeles.
