Mrs. Savilla Barge, aged 84 years, of 824 Vogan street, died in the New Castle hospital on Sunday morning at 7:30 after a long illness.
She was born in Lawrence county on June 8, 1851, a daughter of Andrew and Ellen Baughman. She was married in 1870 to H. P. Barge and was left a widow 33 years ago.
Mrs. Barge had been a member of the Central Christian church and the ladies of the G.A. R. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Croop, of Youngtown, O., two sons, D. H. Barge and Perry Barge of New Castle, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ellie Wynser of New Castle.
The body has been removed to the Book-Leyde mortuary where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted there on Tuesday afternoon at 2 p. m. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

There was a mention in the 10/9/1905 issue of the New Castle News of a marriage in Youngstown between Savilla Barge and Phillip Baker, both of Jefferson Street. There was no date for the marriage. There was a real estate transfer in January of 1909 under the name Savilla Baker by 1910 she was again using the name Barge. She is buried here under Barge.
