Ruby Eileen (MacIntosh, MacKay) Corbett – 93, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday morning, August 29, 2016, at Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in New Annan, she was a daughter of the late Earle and Marguerite (Marshall) MacIntosh.

In earlier years, Ruby worked at Brookfield Creamery and then as secretary at The Peoples Church when it first began, and where was a dedicated and faithful member. She loved to travel and spend summers in Waugh’s River at the old homestead and attend MacIntosh family reunions in New Annan.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Judy (Lawson) Barkhouse, Bedford; daughter-in-law, Brenda MacKay, Atlanta, Georgia; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Emily (Brad) Brown, Bridgewater; Margaret Patterson, Amherst; sisters-in-law, Helen MacIntosh, Tatamagouche; Marjorie MacIntosh, Victoria, British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Hiram MacKay; second husband, William "Bill" Corbett; son, Robert MacKay; sister, Mazie (Lee) Prest; brothers, David (Rita) MacIntosh, Edwin MacIntosh, Graham MacIntosh; brother-in-law, Hiel Patterson. Special thanks are extended to the wonderful staff at Wynn Park Villa for your excellent care, love and support to Ruby and her family while she lived there.

Ruby’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., all in The Peoples Church, 15 Elm Street, Truro, Pastor Ken Fillmore officiating. Interment in The Falls Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Ruby’s memory to The Peoples Church are welcomed.
