Thomas was the eldest son of Sarah Hill Johnson and Peter Johnson 1800-1880.
In 1876, he moved to Harriston,& Thomas conducted the dray and teamster business with his father Peter. Thomas had a small farm just on the northern edge of town and a couple of houses in the town itself.
Sarah is buried in Glen Buell. Her stone was still legible in the cemetery Transcription by the Leeds Grenville Branch OGS June 12, 1974 & Rechecked Sept. 9, 1980. Publication No. 80- 1. The broken stone disappeared during the cemetery clean up about 1990.
