Joan attended St. Joseph's grade schools and graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School class of 1950. In 1954, she received her nursing degree from St. Anthony School of Nursing in Rockford, Ill. Joan was extremely devoted to her Catholic faith and was a Dominican Sister in Grand Rapids, Mich. for most of her life. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Menominee. Joan enjoyed quilting, sewing, and traveling. She was a frequent adorer at the Adoration Chapel. She will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.
Joan is survived by her very special friend,Connie Fletcher of Menominee, MI;
nieces and nephews: Joseph (Sally) Faucett of Menominee, MI; Michael (Christine) Faucett of Appleton, Wis.; Frank (Clarisa) Faucett of Marinette, Wis.; Mary (Dr. James) Tandias of Marinette, Wis.; Rich (Dawn) Faucett of Mequon, Wis.; Tim (Bridgett) Dufresne of Bamberg, S. C. and Scott (Katheryn) Dufresne of Mt. Pleasant, S.C;
one sister: Carol (Richard) Faucett of Marinette, Wis.;
one brother: Gerald (Terry) Dufresne of Charleston, S.C.;
and great-nieces and nephews: Ryan, Matthew, Michael (Megan), Rachel, Nathan, Will, John, Joseph II, Anna, Lauren, Auggie, Emma and Caroline.
Visitation will take place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home in Menominee, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The Vigil prayer service will begin at 6 p.m. with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Joan Mary Dufresne on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Menominee with Fr. Mark McQuesten presiding. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
