Mildred "Mille" C. Hall, age 96 years 4 days, dear sister of the late Emmett Hall, Esther (the late Edward) Byrnes, Matthew Hall and George (the late Virginia) Hall; fond aunt of James (Maxine) Byrnes and Catherine (Byrnes) Terry of California; great-aunt of five. Retired from Spiegel, Inc. in 1975. Joined Spiegel in 1928 at age 16 after graduating Englewood High School Advanced Business Preparation course, and became primary support for her family. Advancing rapidly to the manager of the None Applied Payments Department in 1939, as the first wave of U.S. volunteers left to fight Germany, continuing progressive management roles until retirement. During her Spiegel years, she was a member of the company's women's bowling team, joining other bowling leagues, and was always elected team captain, secretary or treasurer. In retirement, she continued to bowl on several area teams until arthritic hands curtailed her ability. When not bowling or involved in senior citizen groups, she volunteered in Christ Hospital's maternity ward, caring for newborn babies and was privileged to assist newborn babies and mothers to their waiting rides home. Visitation 10 a.m. until time of Service at 1 p.m., at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to any Native American charitable cause would be appreciated.
