Jeanne graduated from Middletown High School in 1940 and then she attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia. While at college, she met and later wed the love of her life, former Governor Sherman W. Tribbitt.

She treasured her family and her many friends.

She took great joy in serving as the First Lady of Delaware. She hosted many a party and enthusiastically fulfilled each and every duty of being the First Lady.

Jeanne was an avid homemaker with the utmost style. Her top priority was making a beautiful home for her family. She was an excellent homemaker, cook, host, gardener, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great joy in all of her many roles.

Jeanne served on many boards and committees and she was especially proud of her role in the SPCA. She also spent endless hours helping to make Christmas in Odessa and Dover Days the successes that they have become.

Daughter of Elmer Sherman and Blanche Cleaver Webb.

Widow of former Delaware Governor Sherman Willard Tribbitt.

Mother of Carole Tribbitt Suchanek, James Mackenzie Tribbitt, and Sherman "Tip" Webb Tribbitt.
