Location: Grand Avenue Christian Church

Our loving mother, Sue (Craig) Dorsey, passed from this earth September 7, 2016, at the Cottage in Highgate in Bozeman, MT. Sue was born June 6, 1922, the 11th of 13 children, Esther, Evaline, Ozwald, Lydia, Wilfred, Emma, Ted, Lilly, Betty, Sarah, Martha, and Argyle born to Noah and Lydia Bennett of Maudalow, MT.

While working at Karst Ranch in the Gallatin Canyon, she met Robert Lee Craig and they were married in 1949. From this marriage came Pamela, Cynthia, and Randy. The family spent happy weekends camping and visiting extended families. Bob passed in 1970.

In 1975, Sue and Jeff Dorsey were married. Jeff was a kind, loving soul, and welcomed the Craig kids with open arms. He brought to the family a son, Larry Dorsey.

Sue loved clothing. She worked for Chamber Fischer for many years then started Sue’s Uniforms and Lingerie on Tracy Street in Bozeman. She cherished time spent with family, whether it was picnics along Cherry Creek at the Flying D Ranch, which Jeff managed, or big holiday celebrations.

After they retired, they spent many winters exploring Arizona. She loved to travel which took her to Ireland, Panama, Mexico, Canada, and Hawaii. But her most favorite was traveling the State of Montana learning about the State’s history, wildflowers, and birds. Sue was also a member of the Mad/Gals of Gallatin County for many years.

Sue leaves behind Pamela (Jim) Bryson of Belgrade, MT; Cyndi (Howard) Alverson of Livingston, MT; Randy (Patti) Craig of Belgrade, MT; and step-son, Larry (Debbie) Dorsey of Gallatin Gateway, MT. Her surviving sisters are Betty Connor of Oregon, and Sarah Hopkins of Washington. Her grandchildren are Justin (Shea) Craig, Travis Marburger, and Heather (Lucas) Foust; step-grandchild, Dennis (Klee) Alverson; and special great-grandchildren, Fiona and Phoebe Alverson. Sue also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and her special little friend, Henry.

A special thank you to the staff of Highgate Cottage for their loving care of our mother.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Grand Avenue Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sue’s name to Bozeman Health Foundation (memo line: Hospice), 931 Highland Blvd., Ste 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715.
