D. Jerry Johnson, 66 of Auburn, died peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2013, at the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his beloved wife, Deborah Nuzzetti-Johnson; his daughter, Debra Johnson of Prescott Valley, AZ; his son, Jerry D. Johnson of Texas; his step-daughter, Melissa A. Brady of Swampscott; his sister, Edith Cook of Shrewsbury; his brother, Edward Johnson and his wife Terry of Worcester; his three grandchildren, Samantha, Timothy and David Adams; his father-in-law, Arnold R. Nuzzetti of Auburn; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arnold R. Nuzzetti and Lee-Ann Nuzzetti of Worcester; several nephews and nieces, including Joe Megarry, whose tremendous assistance, love and support during the past few months have meant the world to Jerry and Deb.

He was predeceased by his parents, Folke F. Johnson and Elsie C. (Brock) Johnson, his mother-in-law Mary S. (Messina) Nuzzetti, his three siblings, Marion Erickson, Clifford Johnson and Wayne Johnson, and by his brother-in-law Robert Cook.

Jerry was born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury. He then relocated to Cape Cod with his parents and attended Shrewsbury High School. He returned to the Auburn area 30 years ago. Jerry served with the US Army in Vietnam during the war. Jerry spent his entire career working as a carpenter, working with several area contractors, as well as for himself. He was always quick to be the one to help anybody out, especially with a carpentry project. He loved to fish and spend time on his boat, and was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He truly was home in the outdoors, whether working or during his leisure time, and loved to host gatherings with family and friends. He also was a enthusiastic Patriots and Red Sox fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jerry’s family on Monday, June 10th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn His funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 11th at 10 AM in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 64 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
