T. P. Kelly
T. P. Kelly, age 71, retired Southern Pacific executive and former resident of Victoria, died Sunday morning in Houston, where he resided.
A University of Texas graduate, Mr. Kelly was vice president and general manager of Southern Pacific Transport Co., the lines' trucking subsidiary. He was instrumental in the development of the piggy-back truck carried by railroad Car.
Just prior to his retirement, Mr. Kelly was assistant manager of personnel for SP in Houston.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cecilia Rice Kelly of Houston; four sons, Tom P. Kelly of California, Bill B. Kelly of Illinois, Hugh Rice Kelly of Austin and Peter B. Kelly of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Ann Montgomery of Germany, and Miss Mary Kelly and Miss Ann Tynan Kelly, both of Houston; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning in Houston.
