Sandy was cremated with her ashes buried in the Gatlin Family Plots of her great-grandfather ZT Gatlin at Maplewood Cemetery (Paris, Tennessee) alongside her siblings Patricia and Robert.

She was born to Alton "Red" Haggerty & Margaret MaCaulay, as were her sister Pat, and brother Butch. Maggie divorced Alton and married Carsey Gatlin. Carsey decided to adopt the children and move to his hometown of Paris, Tennessee, living nearby in Buchanan during her younger grade school years. Upon moving to Paris later, Sandy would attend EW Grove High School in Paris and became a standout basketball player for the girls team. She was also an avid rider of horses, competing in barrel racing and rodeos, as well as fox hunts with her mother Maggie.

In the Spring of 1958 she met her husband Frank Lashlee of Camden. The would marry in July of that year and welcome their firstborn Frank Jr to the world in 1959. They would go on to having 4 more children, Bridgette, Brett, Bryan, and later adopting Patricia.

She would live in Nashville from 1960 to 1971 where her husband Frank was working. They would move back home to Camden/Paris in September 1971 where she would reside mainly, her kids attending local schools in Benton County. Upon a divorce in 1984, she would meet and marry Stanley Rogers and they would move to Alaska in 1985. After residing in Anchorage for a year, they would settle in Kenai and call it home for 25 years. Upon Stanley's death in 2011, she would move back to Camden, Tennessee until her death later in 2022.

Sandy enjoyed anything outdoors and gardening. Hunting, cooking, arts & crafts, crossword puzzles, and game shows would be natural hobbies for her. She was a fierce competitor in card games of any kind, and often the "go-to pick" for bridge, canasta, pinochle, and cribbage competitions!

Sandy would succumb to Congestive Heart Failure, battling it for several years prior to her death at home in March 2022.
