Garceau, Omer O. LARGO, Fla. Omer O. Garceau, 86, passed away August 1, 2013 in Largo. He was born and raised in Cohoes by wonderful parents, Alexie and Dorilla (Couture) Garceau. Omer was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Clearwater, Fla. He worked as a machine operator for Al Tech Specialty Steel, Watervliet, or 38 years. After retiring from Al Tech, he worked at Clear View Bag Co., Inc., Albany until he and his wife moved to Largo, in 1992. He is a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps and a member of the American Legion Post 0273, Maderia Beach, Fla. He was predeceased by brothers, Leo, Alexander, Alfred, George and Joseph Garceau; sisters, Bertha Garceau, Rita Garceau, Reine Pariseau, Margaret Bowen, Anita Bost, Doris Miller, and Loretta Garceau He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Romer Garceau; son, Omer P. (Jacquelin) Garceau of Bull Head City, Ariz.; daughter, Mary Katherine (David) Bova of Crestview, Fla.; two stepsons, William (Cindy) Gervasio of Saratoga Springs and John (Cheryl) Gervasio of Ballston Spa; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by three sisters, Theresa Reis of Pensacola, Fla., Marie Doll of Largo and Ellen Sheppard of Watervliet and sister-in-law, Lorraine (Joseph) Garceau of Cohoes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, Augugst 10, 2013 from Church of the Holy Spirit, 667 Columbia Tpk., East Greenbush where liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery East Greenbush.
