He married Jeanne Pfister on September 27, 1952.
Dr. Baskett proudly served in the United States Navy in the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged he finished his education and received his D.M.D. from the University of Louisville. He began his long career in dentistry in Henderson, KY. He and Jeanne moved to Indianapolis in 1962 where he operated his dentistry practice until 1989. He later joined a practice in Tucson, AZ, where he eventually retired from in 2001.
He was a lifetime member of the American Dental Association and Kiwaniis. He loved playing golf and watching old westerns.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jeanne Baskett; daughter, Janey (Joe) Bennett; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Rudy (Joyce) Baskett; and a sister, Betsy Embry.
He was preceded in passing by sisters, Susanna Baskett, and Virginia Muth; and a brother, Tom Baskett.
