During an extensive career in film, on stage and in television, she will perhaps be remembered for her work in several daytime soap operas including "The Days of Our Lives," "All My Children" and "The Guiding Light." Born Patricia White, she studied Theatre at Stephens College in Missouri and following graduation, she pursued a career in acting, which resulted in her landing a movie deal, initially in bit parts. Roles of substance were to be had in such pictures as "The Beast with Five Fingers" (1946), "Her Kind of Man" (1946) and "Trapped by Boston Blackie" (1948), billed as Patricia White. In 1950, she married film producer Philip Barry, Jr. (whom she remained with until his death in 1998) and would go by Patricia Barry for the remainder of her career. She made her Broadway debut in the production of "The Pink Elephant" in 1953. The 1950s began what was to become a lengthy association with television and during the next four decades she appeared in such popular programs as "The Twilight Zone," "Perry Mason," "Dr. Kildare," "Gunsmoke" and "Columbo," to name a few. In 1972, she was cast to play 'Adelaide Horton' in the serial "The Days of Our Lives." She went on to play 'Peg English' in "All My Children" (1981) and 'Sally Gleason' in "The Guiding Light" (1985 to 1987).
