Dottie was born on December 4, 1916, in Brazos County to George Pickett Edge and Viola May Harris Edge. She passed away less than two months before her 100th birthday. She attended schools in Bryan, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1934. On July 4th, 1938, she married William Joseph "Bill" Moore. After their marriage, they lived in several places before settling in Bryan in 1947, where they raised their family. Dottie worked as a secretary until her marriage, when she became a full-time homemaker. An avid Texas A&M fan, Dottie enjoyed keeping up with Aggie sports and activities. She loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises, and trips to 34 different countries, as well as exploring the United States with Bill in their RV. Dottie was also an avid reader, enjoying many kinds of literature, but always beginning her day with her Bible and prayer. She was a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Temple, and was an honorary charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Bryan. She held memberships in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
