Judy was a very intelligent and friendly person, one that made you smile and laugh. Her love of genealogy and her dedicated work in Shenandoah, Page and surrounding areas have helped so many others. Her articles in newspapers she has written and her love of the valley shined bright for her. She had a dry sense of humor and a fierce love of all of God's creatures, she was a honest and blunt person and expected others to be as well. We will miss you always Judy.

Judith Ann Sours Campbell passed away October 10, 2016, at Commonwealth Assisted Living in Front Royal, VA. She had been suffering with Alzheimer's for several years.

Judy was born in Rileyville, VA on March 27, 1944. She was the daughter of the late William Franklin Sours and Mildred Marie Montgomery Sours.

She is survived by her husband, Julian. They were married at the Page United Methodist Church on April 30, 1971.

Judy is also survived by a brother, William M. "Buddy" Sours and wife, Carol,of Browntown, VA; her sister, Diane M. Hilliard, of Luray, VA; and by her aunts, Frances Hammer, who resides in North Carolina, and Evelyn Wright, who resides in Florida. She leaves behind her two beloved felines, Harry and Shannon.

Judy was a dedicated and dependable worker and was employed by Avtex Fibers in Front Royal, VA for 18 years.

In 1998, she endured breast cancer and survived to keep on living a fulfilling life. During her time on this earth she had many interests. She was a graduate of Luray High School, where she enjoyed being a cheerleader for the Bulldogs.

In a life cut short she was always busy. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point, ceramics, crafts, sewing and researching for genealogy. She had printed several books about histories of local families. She had documented all the cemeteries in Page County and many in the surrounding areas. She also had a unique ability for photography. When you walk into her home her pictures of nature, pets, flowers, wildlife, and of course family surround you. She photographed the Shenandoah River in eight counties in Virginia to Harper's Ferry, WV. She also loved to travel. From the northern plains, to the west coast, from Maine to Florida she would drive. As her disease progressed she enjoyed her short day trips to West Virginia and surrounding areas. She loved her home and her rides in the evenings "up on the hill" to see the sunset.

A memorial service will be held November 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Page United Methodist Church at 1062 Springfield Road in Luray.

Special thanks to Commonwealth Assisted Living of Front Royal and the Blue Ridge Hospice for their love and care for Judy.
