Juan Estevan, of Llano/Peñasco, was predeceased by his parents Jose Estevan Quintana and Maria Bersabe Fresquez; brothers: Alfares, Max and Pablo; wife Vivianita; sons: Anthony and Fred; and granddaughter Barbara. Paternal grandparents were Juan Esteban Quintana (1867-1952) and Maria Librada Leiba.

Juan was survived by his sister Orcelia; nephew Benny (Peggy); niece Doris (Joe); and grandchildren: Essence, Anthony, Augustine, Savannah and Clista; stepchildren: Clora, Edna, Betty, George (Lillian), Modesto, Theresa, Tina (Paul); and many other grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Juan Estevan was a kind, quiet and generous man who was well known throughout his home community of Llano/Peñasco. He lived his life serving his family and the Lord. He retired from Los Alamos Labs and continued his enjoyment of farming his land and raising cattle. The passings of his wife, two sons and a granddaughter within a relatively short time placed a devastatingly heavy burden on him. Even through a deeply wounded spirit, Juan never lost the appreciation for the life with which God blessed him.

A memorial service was on 18 Oct 2016 at The Rock Christian Fellowship Church in Española. Funeral services were on 19 Oct 2016 at The Rock Christian Fellowship Church. Burial followed in the Quintana Cemetery in Llano.
