Harvey Ray Cornwell, 90, of Fort Gratiot, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Lake Huron Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born September 6, 1926 in Applegate to the late Melvin and Alice Cornwell. He married Loretta O. Priebe on October 16, 1954 in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac. She died February 1, 2006.

Mr. Cornwell was a 1945 graduate of Sandusky High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a hairdresser for 63 years along with Edna Teeple, retiring in 2014. He was fantastic at making floral arrangements and working with stained glass. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Elders Club.

He is survived by three sons, Gordon (Sondra) Cornwell, Jeffrey (Judy) Cornwell and Robert Cornwell; four grandchildren, Mitchell, Jeremy (Kristy), Jeffrey (Jessica) and Dylan; and dear friends, David & Barbara Teeple and Phyllis & Joe Fiedler. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.

Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in Faith Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Mark Huff will officiate.
