Donna Rae LaPierre, 63, of Marinette, Wis., went home to be with her Lord and other family members on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. following a yearlong struggle with cancer.
The former Donna Anderson was born September 26, 1953 in Marinette, Wis. to the late Raymond and Audrey (Peterson) Anderson being very proudly raised in Menekaunee.

Donna attended local schools and graduated from Marinette High School with the class of 1971. She continued her education at UW Marinette, UW Oshkosh, and received her Masters Degree from St. Norbert University.

On August 4, 1979, Donna married Lawrence LaPierre in Marinette, Wis. He preceded her in death August 10, 1994.

She was employed as a special education teacher in the Marinette School District for 31 years retiring in 2008. Prior to her teaching school, Donna was a hairdresser for Merle Norman.
Following her retirement from the school, she was a hairdresser for Style Smart and the Harbors.
Donna was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Menominee where she served as Deacon, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Crivitz, Order of the White Shrine of the Nazaren, Daughters of the Nile, American Legion Auxiliary, MEA Teachers union and the PTSA and Kappa Delta Pi. Donna was majority member and past honor queen as well as past guardian of Bethel 16 of Marinette. She loved her dogs, Sammy, who preceded her in death, and Scrappy, her service dog. Donna had strong faith and was very passionate of her Swedish heritage. All who knew Donna knew she was a proud card carrying Democrat.

Survivors include daughter Audra (Justin) Holm of Marinette, Wis.;
sister Linda DeCamp of Marinette, Wis.;
brother Gerald (Jeanne) Peterson of Marinette, Wis.;
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins: Harry and Jean Ruff;
special friends: Pam Maye and Kathy Kitzinger whom she loved dearly.
Mom to many Jobies as well as a special mom to Jenny, Leah (Jim), Andrew, Bethany, and many others.

Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016 after 4 p.m. at Anderson Kell Funeral Home of Menominee with Masonic services at 7 p.m. Visitation continues Saturday from Noon until the service hour at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Menominee. Pastor Jon Nelson officiating. Burial will be Monday November 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Forest Home Cemetery, Marinette, Wis.
