Gerene Oneda Willis age 97 of Wayton, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Jasper, Arkansas.
The daughter of I.G. Snow and Pollie (Taylor) Snow was born on June 18, 1919 at Wayton, Arkansas.
She was married to Vernis Willis on July 25, 1936.
Gerene was a member of the Wayton United Baptist Church and had lived most of her life in Newton County. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernis Willis; two daughters Darlis Garrison and Tennie Ray; one son Mitchell Willis; two granddaughters Sherri Willis and Teresa Willis; one grandson Terry Ray; a brother Garland Snow and two sisters Mildred Henderson and Virgie Casey.
Survivors are a son Bill and wife Shirley Willis of Wayton; two daughters Sue and husband Ronnie Brown of Wayton and Marilyn Willis of Wayton; a son-in-law Sheley Garrison of Wayton; a daughter-in-law Edith Willis of Texas; a sister-in-law Geraldine Snow of Wichita, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, twenty-four great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Wayton United Baptist Church with Brother Donnie Villines and Brother James Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Cemetery at Wayton under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Open visitation Monday, December 26, 2016 from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
