Our beloved one, Inez Singleton Knowles, one who possessed a meek and quiet spirit was the last surviving child of eleven children of what can be described as a dynasty. She was born in Milledgeville, Ga to Rev. John Thomas and Anna Bishop Singleton. Both of Inez's parents were patriarchs of a pioneering family in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. At an early age, the family moved to Barneville, Georgia and then on to Atlanta where she received her education and where she would remain for the rest of her life. She furthered her education at Paine College in Augusta, Ga., later being employed in Atlanta for many years as a school teacher. Inez would later become the mother of four children, two of which preceded her in death. In Atlanta at the age of 104, Inez Singleton Knowles quietly departed this life. We commend her to the serenity, peace and the blessing of eternal life.
