Death takes George TKach
Retired railroad worker dies after long illness; services Thursday.

George Tkach, 71, a retired railroad worker, and well known in the community, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital, after an illness of six months. He resided at the Schultz Hotel, 201 North Bloomington St.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 Thursday morning from the Hudachko Chapel, and at 9 at St. Stephen's church. Burial will be in the St. Stephen's cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel until the hour of the service. The rosary will be said at 8 this evening.

Surviving Mr. Tkach is a daughter, Miss Katherine Tkach, Chicago, a son, George James Tkach, San Jose, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Anna) Chismar, and Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Katcher of Streator, and three brothers, Andrew and John of Streator, and Michael of Madison, Wis.

His wife, the former Goldie Murphy, preceded him in death Aug. 21, 1927.

The sone of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tkach, he was born in Streator March 25, 1886, and spent the greater part of his lifetime here. He was employed as a railroad telegrapher until his retirement several years ago.

He was a member of St. Stephen's church.

Funeral Services Are Conducted for George Tkach

Funeral services for George Tkach, retired railroad worker, who died at St. Mary's hospital Tuesday, were held at 8:30 Thursday morning from the Hudachko chapel, and at 9 at St. Stephen's church, where Rev. Peter Bolerasky served the requiem mass, and delivered the sermon.

Burial was in St. Stephen's cemetery, where Rev. Florian Kirswicki conducted graveside rites.
